Employment PDF Print E-mail
We get calls for employment often enough to put this link here for you. At this time we are not hiring right now (5-17-09) but we are always interested in you for our future. We will gladly take your resume and possibly call you back. This job is not for everybody but if you have had prior experience in the field, that would help us tremendously. Becoming a (crime scene cleaner, biorecovery technician,  crime and trauma decontamination specialist) takes a lot of dedication, a strong stomach, a physically and psychologically fit individual and tons of training and sweat. The "tons of training" is a must for anyone who would like to enter this field as safety always comes first with anyone and any job we encounter due to the fact that we deal with blood, body fluids, human remains and waste.

caldecon remembers 911In the last year or so, there has been a large media buzz regarding "crime scene cleaning", sometimes making it sound glamorous, cool, sometimes easy and extremely lucrative. I can assure you that this is not the case, because if it were, we'd all be crime scene cleaners and very rich. Like any other job that has the potential of a high salary or pay, an education of this field and all it encompasses is necessary and required and that education is not given away for free. This is probably the reason why most "companies" are pretty much mute when someone calls out of the blue to inquire about a "crime scene cleaning" job. I remember myself, I was hung up on more than a few times.

If you are determined enough to want to work in this field, I suggest you give it an intelligent investigation first, there are many resources for this on the internet. One is the yahoo group, crime scene cleaners . There you will find a bunch of us and a bunch of answered questions. There is also, like any other industry, some bad eggs laying around, so do your homework and Good luck!

Sincerely,

ABRA Conference 2007 PDF Print E-mail

Caldecon, Inc. (Elizabeth Freebird) recently attended A.B.R.A.'s 10th annual conference in San Diego, California. We had a great time down there and are looking forward to next years conference in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2008. The contacts made and topics presented at the conference were absolutely invaluable to us. I met with all board members and got a chance to promote Caldecon, Inc. and see what other companies in this industry are doing to become and remain successful companies and leaders in the biohazardous waste field. This alone is invaluable. The board members and all in attendance that are already A.B.R.A. certified made themselves completely open to giving help and support to our organization throughout the year.

President/Owner, Elizabeth Freebird, challenged the A.B.R.A. bio-recovery technician test and scored the highest of all challenge test takers at the conference, passing the A.B.R.A. certified Bio-Recovery Technician's test which made her a A.B.R.A. certified Bio-Recovery Technician as well as an Amdecon® Certified technician.

I would like to thank all A.B.R.A. board members and attendees for making this conference great. Previously, we had a lot of reservations about ABRA but those were put to rest quickly and I am sure that ABRA is the organization to join for any individual or company working in this field. The $400 conference fee and the price of the ABRA yearly membership are worth the conference's value alone. Caldecon, Inc. is looking forward to receiving acceptance and becoming a full fledged voting member in this industry association.

Sincerely-
