Before Cleanup After Cleanup These pictures represent only one quarter of this trauma scene but this demonstrates how severe a site can be and the difficulty of giving an estimate over the phone. This site took three technicians over 3.5 hours to disinfect and generated approximately 80 pounds of waste, 30 lbs. of which was contaminated stick on cloth tile, not shown, and outside of the bathroom. Most of the time, there is personal property that is so contaminated that it needs to be disposed of such as clothing and bathroom toiletries. We do decontaminate personal effects such as wallets, cell phones, jewelry and items of value but most other items are disposed of in biohazardous waste bins. What you do not see here is the blood that was in the drawers, cabinets, behind chairs, on walls, doors, ceilings, inside light switch plates and in concrete seams and cracks. We employ special equipment and solutions to detect body fluids not visible to the naked eye and use virucidal EPA approved disinfecting agents and enzymes to sanitize trauma scenes.
