How do I get rid of maggots? |

PERMETHRIN, gasoline or brake fluid will kill maggots. We do not recommend gasoline or brake fluid but Permethrin is fantastic for the job. Many people have also used boiling water, borax, ammonia, bleach, different types of insecticides without permethrin and those were not completely successful in getting killing every maggot. These little creatures are like roaches, they are extremely difficult to kill. You would think that an industrial ozone machine would kill every living organism, but they don't work completely on maggots. (roaches have been around for millions of years and will live through almost anything...(except a permethrin bomb....). You can find permethrin in products such as wasp insecticide at most hardware stores. The product I found at the hardware store which has the highest percentage of permethrin in it is the fumigating fogger made by RAID, coming in at 12.6% and is probably the best choice, other than a specific maggot killing permethrin product because the fogger will be able to get into the cracks and behind the walls, if that is where the source is. Other products which are sprayed by Ortho or Spectracide have only .03% permethrin in them. Most pest control companies are familiar with permethrin and have a supply they mix up but you would have to ask them to use that particular ingredient if you need maggot control.
