To dutchfreaker:
I agree with you there man, American news is all about fear, while the bedbug problem is real in today's world, the added warnings about sanitizing everything is total BS. All you people are doing with these "antibacterial" products is creating stronger more virulent "germs". Getting sick is normal, but by trying to avoid it at all costs, and we'll just end up hurting ourselves in the long run with a conditioned supergerm, with many antibiotic resistances that cant be killed.

Don't fall into the "antibacterial is better" marketing crap. Plain soap and hot water do a great job in everyday situations. "antibacterial" is just a marketing ploy, and "sanitizer" leaves many bacteria still on the surface it was used. Often people get it confused with "sterilization" which means all the bacteria and organisms are obliterated from the surface.

The sad thing is, most American hotel managers don't require the housekeeping staff to do much more than change the sheets (not the blankets or spreads, just the sheets), replace towels, and wipe off the toilet seat. Unfortunate that people don't take pride in their work or make employees do better.

Hotels are so infested. I have no choice but to travel with my work, so I got product called packtite. It uses heat to kill bed bugs in my luggage when I get home from a trip.
